When purchasing chicken manure dryers, many farms and organic fertilizer plants are most concerned about the equipment's energy consumption and operating costs. Fresh chicken manure has a high moisture content of 65%-75%, and needs to be dried to 12%-15% to meet the standards for organic fertilizer production. The actual energy consumption of a chicken manure dryer is not a fixed value, mainly affected by the moisture content of the raw materials, equipment structure, heat source method, and equipment maintenance. It is also a key factor affecting the profit of the entire manure treatment production line.
Currently, the operating cost of mainstream drum-type chicken manure dryers mainly consists of electricity and fuel costs. Small and medium-sized equipment consumes approximately 15-25 kWh of electricity per ton of fresh chicken manure. Fuel costs account for the largest proportion. Traditional old-style dryers have high energy consumption and large heat loss, while three-pass energy-saving chicken manure dryers have higher thermal efficiency and save more fuel. Different heat sources, such as coal, biomass pellets, and natural gas, have significantly different operating costs; choosing a suitable heat source can greatly reduce production costs. Equipment wall adhesion, air leakage, and uneven feed moisture will directly increase energy consumption and reduce drying effect. To effectively reduce the energy consumption and operating costs of chicken manure dryers, several optimization methods can be employed. Pre-dehydrating the chicken manure before drying reduces the pressure of moisture evaporation; prioritizing energy-efficient drying equipment with waste heat recovery and insulation structures is crucial. Regularly cleaning the material adhering to the drum and checking the equipment's sealing performance during daily production minimizes heat loss. Matching a suitable heat source to the actual conditions of the plant area, avoiding blindly purchasing low-priced equipment, and controlling both equipment selection and daily operation and maintenance are essential to ensuring stable drying results, meeting environmental protection standards, and improving the overall profitability of the chicken manure organic fertilizer project.
